Hello fellow Guild Member

This is a message I'm sending to everyone in the Guild of Khorne's Kommandos. In an attempt to organize the guild for a great Invasion of Orr to secure one or multiple temples.

Candysppon has asked me to try and organize this. That is why I set up a Doodle Scheduler (http://www.doodle.com/a4awpqaebnhgvmcb). I would like to ask every one of you to take 5 or 10 minutes and fill it in. This is the only way we will ever get organized enough for big events!

Greetings
Asu

As we have 8 people signed up at the moment we are looking at 2 teams of 4. I would suggest that that the two leaders are on skype together so that they can co-ordinate their respective teams. Will also be good practice for when we start doing WvW next month.

Evening all, I thought this warranted a comment from myself given the problems this morning.

Firstly I must formally apologise to Asu, as despite all the work he has put in, (including emailing pretty much everyone on the damn guild about this, which is an achievement in itself given that you can only email 2 people at once), not many people turned up.

I was among the late attenders and understandably that has caused some friction, for which I can only say sorry for my part in it and I hope Asu will forgive me. Hopefully he will continue with this kind of organisation as it is what we need and I am grateful for the effort.

I like to learn from mistakes and I think there are a few things we can learn from this escapade so that we can try to avoid situations like this in the future.

1. Maintain a post on the website under announcements for any activity which could be considered a "non-normal" event, for example this topic. The purpose of that post will be let people know which day has been chosen to undertake the event in question. The reasoning behind this is that the doodle covered many weeks and time, some people (myself included) availability can change very quickly. With a centralised "this shit is happening this day" post we can hopefully cut some of that out. It will also help by pointing out what time the event is starting.

2. Which brings me to my next point, in the future a later start time, say 10.00am GMT is probably better as that will be mid morning / early afternoon for most members so we can get all the oversleeping that we need to recover from a week of work over and done with.

3. We currently lack representing members to make up any shortfall, for example we have about 8 people who routinely come on and take part, plus a few others who drop in and out. Therefore when an event is planned, be that an evening dungeon or something like this, if there no members on it kind of falls flat. Now I do not intend to have a guild of thousands of members, but a few more people around the place would be good. Ideally if we could hit about 20 members who are routinely on then we should have the man power to fill in people as needed.

So that is my 2 cents and I welcome any other constructive comments on how this can be improved on in the future.

I also have to apologize to Asu or feel the need to. He really busted his balls in organization of this shit! Unfortunely i overslept, as it pains me to open my eyes in early morning! So sorry Asu, i promise it will go better next time! Also my fucking internet is clearly a weekend lover and also loves to sleep all day!

On Candy's toughts, i think we need to reorganize the guild a little bit! I know it is not on your plans to kick people or starting to be a pain in the ass for other guild members, but i also think if you want this to work with efficience we need to not only recruit people that can give some assurance (i've been trying honestly), ask for some assurance aswell from guild members! Because basically i think we are at the most 10-12 people participating in guild parties! I know it's lame, but i want you to ask more of us! I appreciate much this guild because it gives me some kind of freedom, but there are things that can't be done without a guild (i'm normally a soloer, but after seeing the coolness in dungeons and guild bounty, i could not refuse the guild invite from Leen).

Well, from an old WoW player, it's pretty hard to get everyone to join in. It always will be. Stuff get in way.
That being said, it always helps to ask the question "When will event X fit well? What time, what day would be good for you?". And I don't really know how Asu put this together, but that has worked well for me in the past.
Or just go bossmode and just put a date and a time and just go with whatever amounts shows up.
